JackpotCity Games NZ: What Is in the Lobby, Who Runs It, and What 1 December 2026 Changes

JackpotCity’s international providers and games, the Baytree licensing records, and New Zealand’s December transition. The original lobby research is dated; the regulatory update was checked on 15 September 2026.

Updated / reviewedby Daniel Harper

Scope of this review. The game table and screenshot record the 7 September research. We could not access jackpotcity.co.nz then, and a new attempt on 15 September also timed out. The international catalogue and third-party NZ reports are therefore labelled separately. The December section covers the latest official timetable for existing accounts.

JackpotCity in one paragraph

JackpotCity is a casino brand that has run since 1998 and is now part of the Super Group family, the same portfolio that contains Spin Casino and Ruby Fortune (our JackpotCity sister sites page records that relationship with sources). Its international site, jackpotcitycasino.com, names Games Global, OnAir Entertainment and Pragmatic Play as the studios behind the lobby and offers pokies, table games and a live dealer room. The New Zealand domain, jackpotcity.co.nz, did not respond to connections from outside New Zealand when we checked on 7 September 2026, so everything below about the lobby comes from the international site and from New Zealand reviews written in 2026, each labelled as such.

What the lobby is built from

The international page reviewed on 7 September named Games Global, OnAir Entertainment, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming and Blueprint Gaming. It used both “hundreds” and “over 1000” for its catalogue. Those phrases are not a measured NZ lobby count. Games Global’s May 2022 acquisition announcement covers Microgaming’s distribution business, game IP, progressive network and interests in several studios; it does not mean Games Global owns every studio whose games it distributes.

Why the published game counts are not directly comparable

The reviews used in the original study differed in date, region and counting method. Some counted game titles; live-table totals may also include separate tables or variants. Regional catalogues can differ, but the available evidence does not establish why each published figure differs. A timeout on jackpotcity.co.nz also does not prove a geographic block. Treat the table as a dated source comparison, not a current inventory of an NZ account.

The provider label on the game tile is the reliable identifier, not the theme. That is the same advice we give on the games directory for every studio, and it matters more at a casino that sources from several suppliers under one brand.

Which company runs the games, and under which licence

The September 7 international footer named Baytree Interactive Ltd, Guernsey company 69691, and Kahnawake licence 00892, dated 16 February 2022. At the September 15 check, the international footer instead reports licence 01059, issued 26 August 2026. That newer footer entry supersedes the number in the original notes for the international service. The current Kahnawake permit-holder list associates jackpotcitycasino.com with Baytree Interactive. The Alderney licence extract, checked on September 15, separately lists Baytree (Alderney) Limited as a Category 1 licensee and includes jackpotcity.com and jackpotcitycasino.com. That extract does not list jackpotcity.co.nz or display the 155 C1 number quoted in earlier NZ reviews. It verifies an Alderney entity, not the terms governing every NZ account. For the wider brand relationship, our Super Group network page lists the brands.

Kahnawake and Alderney licences are different from a New Zealand licence. DIA’s information for players says the first NZ licences are expected from early 2027. Existing providers may operate during the statutory transition subject to its conditions; absence of an issued NZ licence today does not, by itself, mean a provider is breaching that transition.

The 2026 Act and what it means for a JackpotCity account

The Act took effect on 1 May 2026, with staged provisions, and the regulations followed on 3 July. DIA’s provider update of 15 September now sets the auction for 29 September 2026, following the closed expressions-of-interest stage. Successful bidders may submit full applications in October. An expression of interest or auction invitation is not an operating licence.

Full licence applications have not yet opened at this review. We have not verified whether the relevant Baytree entity has an auction invitation, and the new timetable does not establish that it will receive a licence. Under Schedule 1 of the Act, the transition concerns providers operating when the Act commenced. An eligible provider applying before 1 December may continue under the operating exemption until the earlier of the day after notice of the licence decision or 1 June 2027. Otherwise the exemption ends on 1 December. It does not permit advertising. For an existing account, keep the operator’s terms, account statements and withdrawal correspondence, and check any direct notice about changes to service.

Five checks for an existing JackpotCity account

  1. Provider and game version. Check the game’s information panel for its developer, distributor and version. A studio credit and a distribution brand can name different companies; the theme or lobby tile alone may not distinguish them.
  2. Return-to-player figure. Use the rules for the game version available on the account. Some games have alternative RTP configurations. RTP is a theoretical long-run average, not the proportion an individual session will return.
  3. Demo access. One 2025 review reported that games are visible only after registration; whether a demo opens without an account is worth checking before any identity documents change hands.
  4. Currency and withdrawal terms. New Zealand reviews describe accounts held in New Zealand dollars; the minimum withdrawal and the payout methods are set in the cashier and the current terms, which we could not open from outside New Zealand, so read them on the account itself.
  5. Limits and self-exclusion. The operator states it provides deposit limits, self-exclusion and links to support. In New Zealand the Gambling Helpline is free on 0800 654 655, 24 hours a day.

Source and review record

Questions and answers

Which software providers supply JackpotCity games?

The September 7 international page named Games Global, OnAir Entertainment, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming and Blueprint Gaming. Some NZ reviews also named Evolution. Those are dated source descriptions; they do not verify every game available to a current NZ account.

Does JackpotCity hold a New Zealand licence?

DIA expects the first NZ licences from early 2027. The international domain appears in Kahnawake and Alderney records under different Baytree entities, but neither is a New Zealand licence. Existing operators must meet the transitional conditions; the exact account operator still matters.

Will JackpotCity stop serving New Zealand on 1 December 2026?

The outcome is not established. Full applications are due to open in October after the September 29 auction. For an eligible existing provider, Schedule 1 allows the operating exemption beyond December 1 only if it applies before then, ending on the earlier of the day after the provider is notified that its licence was granted or refused, or June 1, 2027. An expression of interest is not a licence application.

Why do reviews give different numbers of JackpotCity games?

The original sources differ in date, market and what they count. Some include live tables or variants. Regional differences are possible, but we have not verified the cause of every discrepancy. The NZ domain timed out on our September 15 attempt, so no current NZ catalogue count is claimed.
